NYOS Academy

Applications for NYOS Academy are currently closed.

Formerly, NYOS Training Ensembles were short, non-auditioned, summer courses for strings and pedal harp, wind, brass, and percussion. With a focus on learning repertoire, listening skills, musicianship and audition preparation, these courses were also about meeting other young players from across Scotland and having plenty of fun!

For 2024, a new programme, NYOS Academy will be launched to take the place of the training ensembles. For more information, please check back or make sure you have signed up for the NYOS newsletter for the latest updates about programmes and applications. 

We are thankful to external funding from Creative Scotland’s Youth Music Initiative and other trusts and foundations whose support allows us to provide bursaries for our courses allowing those that may require financial assistance to participate. NYOS is passionate that no young person who wishes to engage with NYOS should miss out due to financial circumstances.

Applications for the last round of training ensembles closed on Thursday 6 April 2023. We are now preparing for our new programmes, and further information will be added here soon.
