Glasgow Meets Berlin - a gala celebration

A celebratory gala concert with NYOS Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow and the Universität der Künste in Berlin.

Through a live link, audiences in George Square, Glasgow and on the European Mile in Berlin can experience the excitement and atmosphere of the concerts in both cities on the stage and big screen.

The popular concert programme features famous operatic tunes and melodies culminating in a mass singalong of much loved songs from Scotland and Germany. Audience participation is essential!

The concert is presented by Jamie MacDougall and Rebecca Wilkie and features performances from the National Youth Orchestras of Scotland’s Symphony Orchestra, tenor David Lynne, soprano Emma Mockett, mezzo-soprano Rebecca Afonwy-Jones and baritone Mark Nathan as well as Glasgow-based folk band Eriska. The soloists are alumni and students of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

This promises to be a spectacular evening capturing the energy of the young soloists, singers and musicians, celebrating the ideals of European friendship and an open, fluent European identity.
