Maurice Ravel Boléro
The NYOS Development orchestra makes it debut at Glasgow City Halls this April to celebrate the diverse musical legacy of Europe in the wake of the First World War.
Experience the defiant sounds of revolutionary Croatia, the frivolity of 1920s France and the spectacular music of a courageous Dutch maestra. The orchestra's spring programme features beloved classics by Ravel and Poulenc, as well as lesser-known works by Dora Pejačević and Henriette Bosmans. Joining NYOS Development as soloist in Bosmans' Poème for cello and orchestra is celebrated cellist Finn Mannion.

I have really strong memories from my first years in Training Strings (as it was called back then) aged 9 or 10, right through the Junior and Senior Orchestras and eventually into Symphony. NYOS was one of the first places that I met other young people who love music as much I do and, although I’m returning in a different capacity this time, I’m still just as excited to experience that again.
