Rehearsal Orchestra - Edinburgh Week

The Rehearsal Orchestra's Edinburgh summer course takes place Saturday 8th August to Friday 14th August 2026 at George Watson's College.

The list of repertoire includes a wide range of symphonic work, from Adams and Britten, via Martinů, to Strauss and Stravinsky, and more. Rehearsals take place during during the day and the week finishes with Open Rehearsal in the afternoon on Friday 14th. It's a great opportunity to work through lots of wonderful symphonic repertoire in intensive rehearsal, but without the pressure of public performance. This year our Artistic Director, Lev Parikian, is joined by guest co-conductor Roger Coull.

There are spaces available for 18+ year-old musicians who play violin, harp, trombone or percussion at grade 8+ level. Specially-reduced rates apply for full-time students and we may be able to allocate bursary funding to reduce costs further.

Violinists may join part-time, or for specific repertoire, if that's appealing.

Accommodation in self-catered apartments belonging to University of Edinburgh is available as needed.
