Future Talent Applications Open

Applications for Future Talent open on Wednesday 25 February and close on Friday 24 April.

Future Talent offers three different programmes designed to support talented musicians under 18 from low-income backgrounds at different stages of their musical journey:

  • The Junior Programme supports younger musicians at the earlier stages of their development (ages 8-14, £500 bursary per year)
  • The Development Programme provides opportunities and guidance for advanced musicians (ages 12-16, £1,000 bursary per year)
  • The Senior Programme offers tailored support and experiences for 
    older young musicians preparing for the next steps on their musical pathway (ages 16-18, £1,000 - £2,000 bursary per year)

Future Talent also offers several Named Awards for outstanding individuals in specific genres. These include additional financial support and are given to Development or Senior Programme musicians based on their application and audition. 

To be eligible for support, young musicians must:

  • Be 17 years or younger as of 1 September 2026
  • Have lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years
  • Come from households with a total income of £39,000 or less per year
