NYOS 1979 - Romeo & Juliet Fantasy Overture by Tchaikovsky

This recording from 14 August 1979 was made at Caird Hall, Dundee during the inaugural National Youth Orchestra of Scotland course. The audience also heard Respighi's Pines of Rome, and Mozart's Clarinet Concerto. The soloist was Janet Hilton.

The orchestra visit the Netherlands during their summer tour of 1988.
NYOS alumni Evelyn Glennie joins the orchestra as soloist for John McLeod\'s Percussion Concerto.
The orchestra are welcomed on stage during their summer tour of Scotland, Norway and the Faroe Islands, with Sir Alexander Gibson at the helm.
