NYOS Symphony Orchestra performing 'Largo' from Dvorak's Symphony No.9, 'New World', April 2017
I this short film we see and hear NYOS Symphony Orchestra conducted by Tecwyn Evans, perform 'Largo' from Dvorak's grand masterpiece, his ninth Symphony, the New World. The haunting, yet delicate cor anglais solo is performed by Caitlin Heathcote. The film was captured, in part, to mark our continued involvement with the BBC Ten Pieces Initiative, which aims to open up the world of classical music to 7-14 year-olds across the UK and inspire them to develop their own creative responses to the music. This performance takes place at the beautiful Usher Hall in Edinburgh and forms part of the Symphony Orchestra's 2017 spring tour.

NYOS Symphony Orchestra Road to the BBC Proms 2016
In this short film we see NYOS Symphony Orchestra (The National Youth Orchestra of Scotland) conducted by Principal Guest Conductor of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the charismatic Ilan Volkov performing Stravinsky’s wonderfully rhythmic composition The Firebird during its 2016 summer tour.
The Symphony Orchestra is also joined by BBC New Generation Artist, Pavel Kolesnikov, to perform Tchaikovsky’s turbulent and virtuosic Second Piano Concerto.
NYOS Jazz Orchestra Road to the BBC Proms 2016
In this short film we follow NYOS Jazz Orchestra (The National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Scotland) as it welcomes back two of its most celebrated guest artists, Iain Ballamy and Liane Carroll. Both Iain and Liane joined the Jazz Orchestra as tutors for the summer school on the Isle of Skye and then performed alongside the Orchestra during its two-leg summer tour, and for the all-important BBC Prom on 5 August at the Royal Albert Hall.
