NYOS Announce 2019 Recipient of the Colin MacLean Bursary Fund

We are proud to announce that the recipient of the Colin MacLean Bursary Fund 2019 is violinist and former leader of NYOS Symphony Orchestra, Iona McDonald.

‘I’m delighted to have been awarded the Colin MacLean bursary for 2019. This award will allow me to travel to Berlin and Vienna to meet new people and make new musical connections. Once I have finished my undergraduate studies in London, it will go towards funding for my masters degree, and research into further musical education in Europe. I’m really excited to see where the support from this award will take me and what new experiences and connections I will make.’ Iona McDonald

“We are delighted that Iona is this year’s recipient of the prestigious Colin MacLean Bursary. She is an exceptional musician, and I have no doubt has a promising career ahead of her. Iona has been a longstanding member of the NYOS family, joining us at just at eight years old and rising to become Co-leader and finally Leader of NYOS Symphony Orchestra.  We wish her the best of luck as she enters the next stage of her studies, and we are happy to be able to assist her in this way.” Nicolas Žekulin, Chief Executive and Artistic Director of NYOS
