NYOS Jazz Orchestra at London Jazz Festival 2014

NYOS Jazz Orchestra of Scotland is one of Scotland’s foremost youth jazz ensembles. Under the direction of Malcolm Edmonstone and Andrew Bain, and featuring soloist Gordon McNeil on saxophone, will recreate the magic of Brecker, from moving ballads to upbeat fusion. The groundbreaking repertoire will offer performers and audiences alike an insight into one of the true greats of the jazz world.

Widely considered as one of the most influential tenor saxophonists of all time, multi Grammy award winner Michael Brecker has inspired jazz musicians in a way like few others. Since early beginnings in a musical home, Brecker went on to enjoy an illustrious international career as a soloist, sideman and composer. His innovative and evolutionary style covered a wide range of genres, including jazz, R&B, funk, rock and pop, and led him to form numerous partnerships with many world-renowned musicians.
