The National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Scotland

The National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Scotland (NYJOS) is one of Scotland's foremost youth jazz ensembles. Under the direction of Malcolm Edmonstone and Andrew Bain, NYJOS aims to provide students with the opportunity to study and perform jazz at the highest possible level, with respected professional musicians from the UK and beyond.

NYJOS at the Tolbooth, Stirling

Having experienced such a warm welcome on Skye during a NYJOS gig last summer, we took the plunge and decided to bring the whole Summer School to Skye this year.

The tour itself was very special too this year, fitting for the 21st anniversary of jazz at NYOS. Our soloist, Liane Carroll brought with her a wealth of experience, joy and enthusiasm. To find out more please click here

The pinnacle of the jazz year at NYOS sees multi award-winning artist Liane Carroll once again join forces with the young musicians of NYJOS to perform at the London Jazz Festival 2014.  NYJOS have been invited to return for the 3rd consecutive year.  For further details visit Upcoming Events or Click Here

In July 2013 NYJOS celebrated its 21st Anniversary at Dundas Castle in South Queensferry. Click play on the video below to watch and listen to The National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Scotland celebrate in style with a wonderful birthday bash with scintillating Jazz on the pavillion at Dundas Castle.
