NYOS Futures

NYOS Futures is the cutting-edge contemporary chamber ensemble of NYOS. It is drawn from senior NYOS and Camerata Scotland musicians and aims to introduce young musicians and new audiences to the fascinating world of late 20th and early 21st century classical music. Membership of NYOS futures is by invitation.

NYOS Futures is enjoying a varied and exciting season. They were delighted to return to the north east of Scotland where they will performed once more at the Sound Festival on 23 October, as part of the New Music Scotland Showcase & Conference. This year's programme included world premieres of music written by NYOS alumni, Peter Longworth and Ian Anderson.

NYOS Futures students will break down boundaries of genre and tradition as they perform on stage alongside Lung Ha’s Theatre Company in an exciting coproduction of Antigone, with music by Ken Dempster. Tickets for the performances at The Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh and Platform, Glasgow, are now on sale in January 2012.
