The National Children's Orchestra of Scotland
The National Children's Orchestra of Scotland (NCOS), is NYOS' symphony orchestra for young musicians aged 8 to14.
NCOS provides an important means of early musical education and performing experience for the young musicians of Scotland, through its annual courses both for full orchestra and specifically for string players. To read reviews of NCOS' performances in Edinburgh and Glasgow, please click here.
Members of the new NCOS for 2012 are eagerly awaiting their Easter course when they will be joined by two brilliant young pianists from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama Junior department. They will perform Poulenc's Concerto for Two Pianos in Perth and Paisley.
15 April, 7pm - Perth Concert Hall (01738 621031)
16 April, 7pm - Paisley Abbey (0141 332 8311)
NCOS Appeal Update
Since losing the main sponsor of NCOS, Standard Life, NYOS has raised over £4,000 in the appeal, and we are extremely grateful to those who have chosen to support NCOS in this way. Each and every donation will make a direct impact upon the young musicians participating in the 2011 - 2012 season and we thank you most sincerely on their behalf. Please see the Events Page for details of a special event hosted by NYOS Friends, Fiona and Peter Foyle at the Framework Gallery, Troon.
