EXCITING CHANGES AT NYOS FOR 2013 AND BEYOND

The National Youth Orchestras of Scotland would like to take this opportunity to introduce some of the exciting changes and plans for 2013 and beyond.
Since 1979, the National Youth Orchestras of Scotland has been providing young musicians in Scotland with unforgettable training and performing experiences. Much has changed since then and today NYOS has more opportunities than ever before for keen young musicians.
Our Vision
- To create a clear journey of musical development from primary school-age to pre-professional with various entry and exit points.
- To nurture talent by providing the best possible training and tutors.
- To enhance the musical education experience by providing more opportunities to learn and perform.
- To continually improve the level of playing in all orchestras.
Changes
- A new Orchestra joins the NYOS family. The new names are:
• NYOS Junior Orchestra,
8-13 years old
• NYOS Senior Orchestra,
11-18 years old
• The National Youth Orchestra of Scotland, 12-25 years old
- A new age range - now up to 25 years old.
- More courses and opportunities to play together.
- 3 courses for the Junior and Senior Orchestras.
- 2 courses and a summer tour for the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland.
