NYOS Alumni to perform in Dalmeny Kirk Concert Series

NYOS presents two outstanding chamber groups comprising current and immediate past members in the Dalmeny Kirk Concert Series. The Astrid String Quartet and Athenaeum Winds will present music by, among others, Grieg, Haydn, Milhaud and excerpts from 'Giri Toscani', a new work by the young Scottish composer and NYOS alumnus, Peter Longworth.
The Kirk is the focal point of Dalmeny village and is one of the best-preserved Norman Parish churches in Scotland. It was built in the early 12th century and has 17th century additions, with the tower constructed in 1937.
The concert is set by candelight, creating an exclusive ambience within this intimate space. The candelabras have been custom designed for this series of concerts and are in suitable keeping with the history of the sanctuary.
